“Celebrity Family Feud.” “I Survived a Japanese Game Show.” “Wipeout.” Summer has arrived–and so has a new batch of reality TV. In recent years, networks have loaded up on reality shows for the steamy months. Tonight, three new game shows compete for audiences’ attention. Buzzwatch presents this cheat sheet for telling them apart.

“Celebrity Family Feud” (NBC)

  • The Premise: NBC revamps the long-running, survey-predicting game show by adding celebrities to the mix. Tonight, the family of rapper and actor Ice-T squares off against the family of Joan Rivers. Then actress Raven-Symone and her family take on Wayne Newton’s clan.
  • The History: The original “Family Feud” was hosted by Richard Dawson and ran on ABC from 1976 to 1985. Later, a syndicated run of the series aired from 1987 to 1995, and again from 1999 to the present.
  • The Challenges: Family teams must guess the most popular answers to a series of survey-type questions that have been administered to the audience.
  • The Host: Al Roker, of NBC’s “Today” show.
  • The Prize: $50,000 to the winner’s favorite charity.
