The latest edition of Star Magazine, that bastion of truth in journalism, is reporting that 7 months pregnant Ashlee Simpson is devastated by her doctor’s assessment that she’s gained too much weight during her pregnancy. The singer burst into tears after her latest checkup and reportedly stocked up on size zero jeans as motivation to help her lose the weight after the baby is born.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is looking for inspiration to adopt healthier dieting practices after the pregnant singer was told that she has gained too much weight during a recent prenatal visit.

“Ashlee broke down in tears at a doctor’s appointment in early August when she found out she’s gained more weight than is considered in the healthy range,” a Star source says.

A long-faced Ashlee immediately took a trip to Malibu’s Planet Blue and stocked up on six pairs of size zero jeans to motivate her to curtail her eating:

“She can’t wear them now, but she hopes it will give her the incentive to watch what she eats.”

Ashlee will welcome her first child with husband Pete Wentz in October.

Give me a break. I’ve seen recent photos of Ashlee and she looks absolutely fine- well within the suggested 25-35 pounds most doctors recommend. This article makes it sound like she’s the size of a whale or something, when anyone with eyes can tell she looks good. She’s been seen attending pregnancy yoga and even has a trainer and nutritionist. And furthermore, while she was thin, I don’t think Ashlee was a size zero before the pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Ashlee told People that she and husband Pete Wentz will spend the next two months getting the nursery ready.

The singer, who confirmed the pregnancy back in May, says she and husband Pete Wentz have been knee-deep in baby-proofing their Hollywood home.

“We’re getting the nursery ready,” said Simpson. “I can’t wait to be a mom and he can’t wait to be a dad, so it’s fun.”

“I have the greatest husband,” she said. “He’s so awesome. It’s fun to have somebody that I love to do this with.”

Having her family around has been comforting too. “My mom and my grandmother [have] given me good motherly advice,” said Simpson, “but it’s one of those things where your mother instincts kind of kick in right away.”

Other things on their to-do list? Picking a baby name. But Simpson says they haven’t settled on one yet.

After joking about calling their kid “Orange,” Simpson said, “I don’t think it’s something we’ll decide until the baby comes.”

Papa Joe Simpson can be proud. His son-in-law, Pete Wentz, “nailed” a recent performance of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” – a song once mangled by his other daughter’s beau.

Ashlee Simpson’s new hubby performed a stunning rendition of the baseball tune at Chicago’s Wrigley Field on Sunday. Last month, Jessica Simpson’s boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, made headlines when he sang an off-key version of the same song also at Wrigley Field.

“We’ve had both [Simpson] significant others,” says Chicago Cubs manager of entertainment and player relations, Joe Rios. “It’s like comparing apples to oranges. But they were both great in their own ways.”

In terms of Wentz’s performance of the iconic song, which is traditionally performed by various celebs during the seventh-inning stretch, “He nailed it,” says Rios. “I would put him up there on the upper echelon. Definitely top one to two percent.”

Adds Rios, “Every now and then you get these awesome singers to do it. We’ve [also] had some non-polished professionals go out there and have fun.”

Romo’s off-key version of the song would certainly fall into the non-polished category – but that’s half the fun of it, according to Rios.

“Tony gave us a lot of fun with the pickup in the news about how awful he did,” laughs Rios. “It’s almost no fun when you nail it. There’s more to talk about when you screw up. If you do bad, it’s actually good.”

The important thing was that Romo and Wentz – who are both Cubs fans – had a “great time and had fun with it” says Rios. “Now we just need to get the sisters out next.”

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz have a new addition to their family: a 10-week-old puppy.

Wentz is known for his love of pets: His dog Hemingway was the ringbearer for his May wedding to Ashlee, who showed off her baby bump at Wentz’s bar opening

last week.

And luckily, Rigby loves Hemingway just as much. “[She] pretty much follows Hem around,” says Wentz.

But for his 29th birthday on June 5, he also commissioned a cake that was a life-size replica of Hemingway.

“Kinda weird to eat your dog,” writes Wentz. “But I got past it.”

Us Magazine says Joe Simpson asked Tony Romo to drop his agent and let him handle his NFL career and $67.5 million contract. He even told Romo he would manufacture their engagement and wedding in order to sell it to magazines just like he did for Ashlee if him and Jessica ever decided to marry. Apparently, this wasn’t proper etiquette and offended Tony Romo’s sensibilities which was one of the reasons for the almost break-up. The other reason is Jessica drinks way too much. I don’t see how a hot chick with big boobs being really drunk is a problem, but okay. When Us asked Joe for comment, Joe said:

“It’s unfair to criticize me for what every manager does for his or her clients. And in this business, where people can quickly turn on you, who better than a parent to be working for his children?”

The one good thing to come from this is that when Jessica Simpson turns 40 and we find her living in a trailer park eating TV dinners, at least we’ll know where it all went wrong. Some celebrities don’t even have that comfort.

Papa Joe whored out Jessica Simpson yet again.

According to TMZ, People Magazine agreed to pay $1.4 million for photos of Ashlee Simpson’s wedding but only if Jessica and Tony Romo were there.  Hence, Tony showing up despite their split a mere days before.

I have yet to see the wedding photos, but I’ll bet my virginity Pete has got on more make up than Ashlee and Jessica combined.

Newlyweds Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz have resurfaced in New York following their secret honeymoon.

The happy couple returned to the big apple after spending four days in the Turks and Caicos.

After spending their wedding night in a “safari tent” at Simpson’s parents home in Encino, California, where the nuptials took place, Fall Out Boy rocker Wentz had told People magazine, “We are going to a very, very, very, very private island so that the paparazzi can’t follow us.”

However, the pair were spotted on Thursday, with a spokesperson for the couple confirming Wentz is conducting business in New York.

The pair are also reportedly expected at a private party during their stay.

While I understand that Ashlee and Jessica Simpson might sincerely love music and film, the truth of the matter is that neither of them have maintained successful because of their talents.

Despite Jessica’s vocal capabilities, she’s stayed in the spotlight because of her good looks. Ashlee has remained relevant merely because she’s somewhat attractive filler who is fun to make fun of. But no one cares about her movie career, nor her musical career.

So the idea that Papa Joe is fishing for a $1 million deal to get Ashlee Simpson on the cover of a tabloid magazine is just absolutely laughable.

A magazine source said, “Joe is contacting all the weeklies and asking them to pony up $1 million to put Ashlee on the cover.”

“The deal would include photos of Ashlee - taken by Joe, of course, so he can make more money - an interview and photos of the baby when she has it,” our source said.

Sadly, there is some interest - but not for anything close to $1 million.

One magazine editor said the pictures would fetch “$60,000 maybe - but definitely not a million. The timing is a little suspicious. Her album ['Bittersweet World'] is dropping next week, and there was little to no interest until now. Ashlee’s lucky she got pregnant, frankly.”

But even with the marriage announcement, “Joe has an unrealistic expectation of what Ashlee can command,” the editor said.

No one buys magazines to see Ashlee Simpson. At least not enough to pony up $1 million. Maybe if there were photos of Pete giving her a money shot, and even then her face would look so disgusted by the act that what’s the point?
