Barack Obama makes another appearance on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. In a new conversation with the historic Presidential candidate, Obama talks about the youth vote, his iPod collection, and his top three priorities as the President.

“If I had one musical hero, it would have to be Stevie Wonder,” says Obama, who grew up on Seventies R&B and rock staples including Earth, Wind and Fire, Elton John and the Rolling Stones. “When I was at that point where you start getting involved in music, Stevie had that run with Music of My Mind, Talking Book, Fulfillingness’ First Finale and Innervisions, and then Songs in the Key of Life. Those are as brilliant a set of five albums as we’ve ever seen.”

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Rap star Kanye West picked up two prizes on Tuesday at the BET Awards, an event honoring black recording artists, actors and athletes, while Alicia Keys was one of several stars who used the occasion to salute presidential contender Barack Obama.

The only other multiple winner was the hip-hop duo UGK, consisting of Bernard “Bun B” Freeman and the recently deceased Chad “Pimp C” Butler. In all 15 awards were handed out during a three-hour show mixing the heroes of contemporary hip-hop and old-school R&B.

Keys, flying high with a successful worldwide tour, a chart-topping album and an upcoming film, shared the stage with three leading female ensemble acts from the 1990s — TLC, En Vogue and Sisters with Voices — for a medley of R&B music.

She went on to win the prize for best female R&B artist, and offered a heartfelt endorsement to Obama, who would be the first African-American elected to the nation’s highest office.

“Together we can do anything — Obama, y’all!” she enthused.

Teen sensation Chris Brown, who topped the U.S. singles chart last year with “Kiss Kiss,” was named best male R&B performer.

AL GREEN IS SORRY

The evening’s most spine-tingling moment came when veteran soul crooner Al Green, recipient of a lifetime achievement award, got the audience in the Shrine Auditorium on its feet singing, and dancing, along with his classic 1970s hit “Let’s Stay Together.”

As Barack Obama broadens his outreach to evangelical voters, one of the movement’s biggest names, James Dobson, accuses the likely Democratic presidential nominee of distorting the Bible and pushing a “fruitcake interpretation” of the Constitution.

Loathe as I am to admit it, I think we’d better listen to James Dobson on this one. If there’s anybody who knows about distorting the Bible to suit his own personal needs, it’s him…

Dobson took aim at examples Obama cited in asking which Biblical passages should guide public policy — chapters like Leviticus, which Obama said suggests slavery is OK and eating shellfish is an abomination, or Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, “a passage that is so radical that it’s doubtful that our own Defense Department would survive its application.”

“Folks haven’t been reading their Bibles,” Obama said.

Um, maybe the problem is that they have been reading their Bibles. I’m just sayin’.

Dobson and Minnery accused Obama of wrongly equating Old Testament texts and dietary codes that no longer apply to Jesus’ teachings in the New Testament.

“I think he’s deliberately distorting the traditional understanding of the Bible to fit his own worldview, his own confused theology,” Dobson said. “… He is dragging biblical understanding through the gutter.”

Gather ’round, children. The irony is growing plump and juicy on the vine. It’s going to be an joyous irony harvest come fall.

Christians like Barack Obama are very threatening to money-hungry uncredentialed “theologians” like James Dobson, who spend their lives hurting people with their ignorant philosophies and maladjusted worldviews. That’s why Dobson is lashing out against Obama’s “fruitcake interpretation” of the Bible:

“I think he’s deliberately distorting the traditional understanding of the Bible to fit his own worldview, his own confused theology.”

Haha. Fruitcake. Tired of the gay jokes, Dobson! Kidding. When James Dobson opens the Bible he only sees the 6 verses that might be about gays, and he misses the bulk of the Old Testament and Jesus’s words that were about social justice. It’s so cute how Dobson elevates himself to the level of “Bible trivia expert” and millions of retards give him money. Gives me a warm fuzzy in my heart.

That’s not c-ch-ch-ch-ange we can believe in.

James Dobson is a lying fraud.

I mean, it’s pretty easy to look at Obama and Dobson side-by-side and play “HMMM, which one represents the message of Christ? The obsolete old white guy who tears families apart in the name of hurting gay people or the one who calls us to greater lives in service of our fellowmen?”

Elaine Hendrix has a double shot. During the “What A Pair” concert of women’s duets benefiting breast cancer research she performed “Xanadu” with Teri Polo and then portrayed Barack Obama belting out amusing political lyrics with Lisa Ann Walter.

“It’s hard to beat ‘Xanadu’ on skates but Barack is very hot right now,” Hendrix said as she cradled a dozen red roses given by a fan. “But we’re all so supportive of each other that everyone who performed won tonight.”

Who else was hot? Diana Harris’ writhing version of “Que Sera” with Marg Helgenberger and “Rough and Ready Man” by Nikki Crawford and Loretta Devine will generate serious hits. And Lili Haydn, who brought down the house with her frenzied violin performance during “Comfortably Numb,” already performs a version of the song on You Tube with Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters.

“There were so many talented performances tonight that the You Tube site might crash,” admitted Haydn.
