Cameron Diaz Sparks Engagement Rumors

Posted on 27 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

Cameron Diaz has sparked engagement rumors by sporting a huge ring on her wedding finger.

Cameron Diaz

The “Charlie’s Angels” actress appeared to flash the dazzling ring at photographers as she left the Nobu restaurant in Santa Monica yesterday, indicating that her relationship with new beau Paul Sculfor may have taken a more serious turn.

Earlier this week the 35-year-old star was pictured looking blissfully happy as she kissed and cuddled the bricklayer-turned-model, who previously dated Jennifer Aniston, during a day out in West Hollywood.

The celebrity couple couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they enjoyed a dinner date before strolling to a nearby boutique.

Cameron Diaz, who was devastated by the death of her father earlier this year, has been single since splitting from Justin Timberlake in 2007.

Paul Sculfor, 35, briefly dated former Friends star Jennifer Aniston earlier this year.

He is also a close friend of Victoria Beckham and has dated TV presenter Lisa Snowdon.

Justin Timberlake Proves He is All Man

Posted on 23 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

Justin Timberlake’s “best friend” and long-time “business partner,” Trace Ayala, apparently thought to tell inTouch the gayest thing ever. inTouch Weekly reports:

Superstar Justin Timberlake doesn’t hide anything from his longtime best friend, Trace Ayala. “I see the kid naked all the time, so if he is wearing a Speedo, I’m like ‘Yeah! He actually has clothes on!” Trace, 27, tells In Touch about Justin donning a tiny, skintight bathing suit in his latest flick, The Love Guru…..Trace says he approves of the singer’s girlfriend, Jessica Biel. “You know, I have never seen him with anyone like that - ever,”…Trace also told In Touch that Jessica helps the pair with their denim designs.”

I’m not sure if you picked up on that, but when Justin Timberlake isn’t prancing around naked in front this dude, they pass the time together by designing jean jackets on their Fashion Plates. I really hope Trace Ayala gave this interview in a mesh halter top and daisy dukes, because most fashion experts would agree that the occasion called for such a daring ensemble.

Britney Spears Considered For Emmy Award

Posted on 12 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

Britney Spears – Emmy Winner?: In news we never thought possible, Britney Spears has been included on the official ballot for possible nominees for an Emmy Award, OK! Magazine reports. The pop star’s name was included on the list for her guest appearances on CBS’s “How I Met Your Mother.” The list, which includes 40 others actresses, will endure one round voting by Academy members before the final list is announced. Will we be hearing; “Thank you very much y’all!” from the Emmy Awards stage come September?

Bringing Single Back?: When Justin Timberlake’s best friend and business partner, Trace Ayala, was asked about the possibility of the pop star getting married to girlfriend Jessica Biel, he was hopeful the couple would someday walk down the aisle, but didn’t see it happening anytime soon. “I hope so. To be honest, I don’t see them in the future, but I hope so. I really do,” Trace told Us Weekly Wednesday at “The Love Guru” premiere. Supportive and negative at the same time – a true wingman!

She Knows What Girls & Boys Like: MTV’s resident bisexual reality star, Tila Tequila, thinks she played a role in the legalization of gay marriage in California. “It is because of me — I definitely think [my show] has helped the movement,” she proclaimed to Us Weekly Wednesday, again, at “The Love Guru” premiere. “Before it came out, everyone was still a little apprehensive about [same sex relationships]. Then they realized, ‘Wow, everyone is really into this stuff, and it is fine.’ The next thing you know, [gay marriage] is legal.” Who says reality TV can’t change the world!

Brother Don’t Preach!: When Madonna’s brother, Christopher Ciccone, announced his plans yesterday to write a tell-all memoir, not everyone was pre-ordering their copy on Amazon. Madonna was too busy with lawyers, according to E!‘s Marc Malkin. “When she was meeting with lawyers and everyone was saying it was because she wanted to divorce Guy, she was really meeting with them to get the book killed,” a source told Malkin. If the book sells half as well as tickets for Madge’s new “Sticky & Sweet” tour, brother boy might be on to something.

Jessica Alba’s ‘Love Guru’ Co-Stars Send Baby Congratulations

Posted on 11 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

She gave birth on Saturday, but already the well wishes for new mom Jessica Alba and her new baby, Honor Marie Warren, are coming in fast and furious from her “Love Guru” co-stars.
“Congratulations,” Justin Timberlake said.

The “Love Guru” co-star said he last saw Alba a couple of weeks ago when the cast gathered together for a screening of the film.

“She looked like she was ready to pop,” Timberlake told Access Hollywood. “I am glad the little one is out, but you know, she was glowing and she looked beautiful.”

Though Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, are first time parents, Timberlake said his co-star already has the makings of a great mom.

“She seems very patient — that’s what moms require more than anything, knowing my mom,” he laughed.

“Love Guru” star Mike Myers also offered his well wishes for Alba, though he is waiting to call her.

“I don’t know what the etiquette is,” he said. “I think you have to wait a couple of days until they are home, but I send a message now of congratulations.”

And like Timberlake, Myers said he believes Alba will make a terrific mother.

”[She’s a] very real person,” Myers said. “She’s very funny and very smart, very talented and she is very real. I think she is going to be a great mom.”

Dubai goes from business to music mecca

Posted on 10 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

Those who fetch $130 for a barrel of oil can call the tune these days. And it seems the tune is becoming so catchy that even Madonna, the original Material Girl, might be singing soon in this rich Gulf city-state.

Flush with oil dollars, Dubai is no longer satisfied with being just a business, tourist and sports mecca. It’s trying to boost its prestige further by pouring money into entertainment to lure the music industry’s priciest stars.

Santana’s February concert in Dubai was sold out. Last week, Jon Bon Jovi performed in Abu Dhabi, the Emirates’ capital just a short ride down the coast.

Justin Timberlake, Elton John, Pink, Aerosmith, Destiny’s Child and the Gypsy Kings have all entertained Western, Asian and Arab expatriates in the last few months in this string of seven semiautonomous states in the Persian Gulf. Music fans regularly fly in from Cairo, Beirut and elsewhere across the Middle East to hear their idols.

But a Madonna concert — if it happens — would take the musical glitz to a new level.

Earlier this month, the Dubai-based Gulf News daily and the tabloid 7 Days reported that the pop diva would come to Dubai this year on a tour organized by a Los Angeles-based events company, Live Nation, to promote her new album, “Hard Candy.”

Madonna might perform twice, the newspapers reported, citing event organizers familiar with the plans — at a public concert and at a private party, a first in her decades-long career. The price tag for the performances: more than $20 million, the papers said.

So far, however, Madonna’s publicists are publicly staying mum.

Nasim Tabatabaei, marketing and public relations manager for Live Nation Middle East, based in Dubai, said Madonna was still putting her tour together.

“She had offers from everywhere, and that could include the Emirates,” Tabatabaei told The Associated Press.

The mania over the possible Madonna concert is a reflection of the fact that the Emirates have seen “a huge jump in events here, both in the number of people attending concerts and in the significance of artists performing,” said Thomas Ovesen, managing director of Middle East AEG Live, the regional arm of an international company that produces live events worldwide.

The music boom fits in with the Dubai ruler’s ambitious plans to make the city attractive for the rich and famous, and to fuel mass tourism. Glitzy top-level sports, like March’s Dubai Tennis Championship, are another factor.

In terms of the concert scene, Dubai has people and firms that can pay top dollar “even though the event might not be commercially viable,” Ovesen said.

Artists who perform in Dubai expect to earn “twice as much” as they do in the United States or Europe, Ovesen said. He refused to disclose how much Bon Jovi walked away with after his performance for a crowd of 17,000 in Abu Dhabi. His company helped organize the concert in one of the most expensive hotels ever built, The Emirates Palace.

Not everyone is happy about the high production costs.

It’s “good that Dubai is on the radar screen of the world’s major promoters,” said Abdullatif al-Sayegh, chief executive of Arab Media Group, which along with Viacom Inc.’s MTV Networks International owns MTV Arabia.

But it’s “not so good that we are paying twice or three times as much” for concerts as do promoters in the United States and Europe, he said.

Yet, corporate sponsors are only too eager to throw their money behind music and sports heavyweights to raise their company profiles. Paul Idznik, Barclays’ chief operating officer, said his bank invested $9 million to sponsor the tennis championship the past three years.

An additional attraction for famous visitors and artists is the privacy in Dubai — filled with gated communities and a mostly nonintrusive local press.

“Celebrities come, relax, dine, party and shop without the media ever finding out they were even here,” al-Sayegh said. “That’s a great feeling for them and for us.”

Romo, Timberlake break 100 at Torrey Pines

Posted on 08 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and singer Justin Timberlake may not be qualified to play in the U.S. Open, but both proved they could break 100 Friday on Torrey Pines’ South Course.

The pair joined “Today” host Matt Lauer and a regular guy from Omaha, Neb., in a foursome bent on disproving Tiger Woods’ theory that it takes a pro to beat the course.

Romo, who missed qualifying for the U.S. Open this spring, won with a 13-over 84. The beefy quarterback, who boasts a 2.2 handicap index, barely broke a sweat playing the first nine holes in 5-over 40 but slowed as the six-hour round wore on.

“It got really tough to stay sharp,” he said, nodding toward the 18th hole, where he had his only double bogey after hitting into a bunker.

Timberlake, suffering from allergies, seconded Romo, although his game improved over the last four holes with two pars and two bogeys as he went into “Michael Jordan mode.” A 6.0 handicap index, he parred the 18th to finish at 27-over 98.

“It’s just inhuman, how well they strike it,” he said, referring to Woods and his ilk.

Timberlake, outfitted in a dashing black trilby hat and tuxedo-stripe pants, started hamming it up with the gallery once his taut dancer’s swing started to go south, blowing on the ball as it rimmed the seventh hole without any luck and asking the crowd to approve his drop into the rough at the edge of the fairway.

He couldn’t blame his troubles on Mother Nature, either, after he skipped off the course after teeing off at the first hole and making a beeline for the men’s room.

“Excuse me! I knew I forgot something,” he called out to laughing spectators in his soft Tennessee drawl.

Lauer scraped by with a 100 on the par-71 course despite playing with a 6.2 handicap index. He came back from an early quad and a series of double bogeys to make a par 5 on the final hole.

“It’s not easy,” he said. “I didn’t think Tiger made an outrageous statement.”

The only one of the four who didn’t seem to mind the scores was John Atkinson, a medical salesman from Omaha, Neb., who was chosen from 56,374 essay applicants to play in the challenge. He finished with a 43-over 114.

“At some point I just didn’t really care,” said Atkinson, who is undergoing treatment for advanced inoperable lung cancer. “I just wanted to enjoy it.”

Atkinson had a 56-person cheering section with him. They shouted “C’mon, Johnny!” when his ball hit the green and gave sympathetic claps and “awws” when he disappeared into the bunkers.

His friend, Dave Leahy, said the crowd joined Atkinson as he trained in Omaha to prepare him for the pressure playing in front of an audience.

“He was out there every Saturday with 50 people pretending to be the gallery and wearing a mike so he’d get used to it,” Leahy said.

He gave his caddy, noted sports psychologist Bob Rotella, a sweet shrug after chasing the ball around the green before making his putt on the fifth hole.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience for him,” said his wife, Lori. “It doesn’t matter.”

Woods told reporters last year at Oakmont, generally considered the toughest golf course in America, that no 10-handicapper could break 100. With Torrey Pines refurbished into a 7,643-yard “monster”—the longest in U.S. Open history—it served as a suitable stand-in for the challenge, hosted by Golf Digest magazine and NBC.

Torrey Pines, named for the rare gnarled trees that dot the cliffside course, will be the first city-owned golf course to host a U.S. Open starting next Thursday.

Justin Timberlake wants to be a porn star?

Justin Timberlake wants to be a porn star?

Who would have thought that Justin Timberlake would one day be a porn star? Unfortunatly, he is not one in real life, just a wannabe porn star in his new movie “The Love Guru.”

The pop singer sports a dodgy ‘tache, big hair, tiny speedos and little else as Jacques Grande in “The Love Guru.” Grande is a professional skater and aspiring porno actor who has stolen away the wife of a rival hockey player whose career has subsequently gone on the skids.

Austin Powers star Mike Myers plays an Indian guru who makes people fall in love and he attempts to break into the US self-help market by resolving this “triangle of lurve”.

Jessica Alba, Ben Kingsley and Jessica Simpson also star in this ridiculous comedy along with Verne Troyer, who played Mini Me in the Austin Powers series.

The Justin Timberlake Foundation donates $100,000

Posted on 22 May 2008 by JoyCeleb

Justin Timberlake donated $200,000 from his foundation

Justin Timberlake has his own foundation, rightfully titled The Justin Timberlake Foundation, which focuses on trying to keep music programs alive. Which I think is a great idea cuz music is definitely food for the soul.

Recently, his foundation donated $100,000 dollars to the Memphis Music Foundation and $100,000 to the Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum in Memphis, Tennessee.

“Music education and keeping the legacy of Memphis Music alive has always been important to me,” Timberlake said in a statement. “That is why I will always continue to support my hometown the same way they have always supported me.”

The Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum will utilize the gift to further achieve its mission of “telling the story of Memphis music and perpetuating its legacy” and to advance music education for students throughout Shelby County.

“Like musicians around the globe, he has always recognized the musical magic of this city, and he has never stopped promoting it,” said Doyle. “He has never stopped giving back to the community, to the local music industry, and to young people. The museum is honored by his generosity, honored by his recognition of the museum’s message, and honored that he is from Memphis.”

Justin Timberlake’s new reality show

Posted on 22 May 2008 by JoyCeleb

Justin Timberlake’s new reality show

Justin Timberlake has signed on to produce a new reality show for MTV called The Phone.

Based on a Dutch series, MTV said their version is “reminiscent of films like ‘Bourne Identity‘ and ‘The Game.” The show’s premiss is about MTV hiding two cell phones at opposite ends of a major U.S. metropolis. The phones will ring at exactly the same time, and whoever picks up will be given five seconds to agree to the terms of the game and then be sent on a series of city-traversing missions guided by a mysterious voice and followed by a helicopter.

“We’re turning the reality competition format on its head and plunging the contestants into a real life ‘Bourne Identity’ - not just in the tone and creative, but also in terms of the visual style and pacing,” said Tony Disanto, executive Vice President of programming and series development for MTV said. “Each week will be an action packed mini-movie. When you watch, your heart will pound as hard as the contestants. This is popcorn TV!”

“The Phone” is scheduled to premiere fall 2008.
