Dressed as Dorothy and Marilyn Monroe, New York Goes to Hollywood

Posted on 27 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

After getting double dissed on Flavor of Love, Tiffany ‘New York’ Pollard transformed rejection into her own reality series with I Love New York. But finding love with Tailor Made (George Weisgerber) on I Love New York 2 was not enough. New York is ready for a new challenge. Get ready for New York Goes to Hollywood, which follows the leading lady as she attempts to put her name on Tinsel Town’s A-list by becoming a serious actress. What about Weisgerber? Although he told PEOPLE in March, “Tiffany and I are very happy together,” New York will leave her love behind and go west to woo industry professionals in her quest for a movie star career. “We will make this work,” Tailor Made said of their relationship. “I’ll visit her as much as I can.”

VH1 just released the first promotional pictures for New York Goes Hollywood, which premieres Aug. 4 (10 p.m. ET). “New York like you’ve never seen her before,” the network’s site reads. That would be as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz (left) and as Marilyn Monroe (right). –Madeleine Desmond

Rare Marilyn Monroe footage goes up for auction

Posted on 22 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

Candid footage of Marilyn Monroe on the set of her last completed film, along with memorabilia from other stars and movies, went up for auction Saturday in Las Vegas.

The two reels of silent 8 mm color film shot on the set of “The Misfits” was expected to draw starting bids between $10,000 and $20,000.

The auction also included the original disco ball from “Saturday Night Fever” and an original script of “The Godfather” signed by Marlon Brando. The sale was held by Julien’s Auctions at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.

The 47-minute film, “On the Set with ‘The Misfits,’” was shot by film extra Stanley Floyd Kilarr. It features candid moments with Monroe and co-star Clark Gable, as well as Montgomery Clift, Thelma Ritter and director John Huston.

The film shows actors preparing for scenes, chatting with crew members and others on the set, and relaxing between takes.

“The Misfits” was the last completed film for both Monroe and Gable.

Gable had a fourth heart attack just after filming was finished and died Nov. 16, 1960, about two months before the movie’s U.S. release. Monroe died Aug. 5, 1962.

Cathy and Rod McCormick, of Sparks, Nev., obtained the film canister from her father, Frank Hasy, Kilarr’s uncle.

Items sold early Saturday included a jumpsuit worn by Elvis Presley in the film “Viva Las Vegas,” which drew a bid of $36,325. Alfred Hitchcock’s driver’s license sold for $8,000, and an original “King Kong” French film poster sold for $40,625, according to the auction officials.

Lindsay Lohan naked In Playboy?

Posted on 21 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

lindsay lohan leggy car nakedGood news everybody! We might be in store for some more photos of Lindsay Lohan naked, this time in Playboy. Here’s the skinny:

Lindsay Lohan will get another chance to strip off and pose nude as Marilyn Monroe - if Hugh Hefner gets his way. Hefner wants the starlet to appear in Playboy recreating Monroe’s famous naked swim from her ‘Something’s Got to Give’ movie, according to U.S reports.

“Now we hear Lindsay is tempted to continue her nude homage to MM,” Liz Smith writes in the New York Post.

“Playboy’s Hugh Hefner has offered the young star the chance to re-create Marilyn’s famed nude swim from the unfinished film ‘Something’s Got To Give.’” (Source)

Hey, I’m totally up for more naked photos of Lohan, but what’s with recreating all these Marilyn Monroe photoshoots? Can we get a Lindsay Lohan showing her goods, and not a Lindsay Lohan that looks like Marilyn Monroe? Those nude photos of her in New York magazine would have been even steamier if she kept her natural hair color, and posed as herself, and I have a feeling she has a ton of sexy poses up her sleeve.

Sure this is just a rumour, but if she does agree to pose naked for Playboy in another Marilyn tribute, worst case senario we’re going to get to see her naked again!.

Pamela Anderson to part with prized car for PETA

Posted on 09 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

Pamela Anderson may have a need for speed, but her favorite charity has a need for funds.

That’s why the former “Baywatch” babe is selling her prized Dodge Viper and donating the proceeds to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals.

“I’ve been working with PETA for 15 years,” Anderson told The Associated Press. “They’re kind of my ethical advisers. With them, I see actual results.”

The 40-year-old actress recently held a private estate sale to benefit the animal organization, and she’s planning to personally oversee the sale of her 2000 Viper, which she customized herself with white racing stripes. The car plays a prominent role in Anderson’s forthcoming E! series, “Pam: Girl on the Loose,” but she admitted it was dangerous for her to own such a high-performance vehicle.

“I’m a terrible driver,” she said. “It’s just not a good idea for me to have a Viper.”

The car will be among the offerings at Julien’s Auctions’ Summer Entertainment Sale of Hollywood memorabilia, to be held June 21 and 22 at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Other items available include Alfred Hitchcock’s driver’s license, personal snapshots of Marilyn Monroe and Sammy Davis Jr. and an original “Ben Hur” script signed by Charlton Heston. The sale will be broadcast live on Auction Network.

Though Anderson regularly attends charity auctions, she said she’s not much of a collector.

“I get sports stuff for my kids,” she said. “But me? I, just on a whim, give everything away. This is another one of those opportunities, but it’s specific. It goes to the cause.”
