Laura Logan blows her flip side lid

Posted on 26 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

Laura Logan pulled scene with her TV Reporters’ Lovers Quarrel Blows-up in Baghdad. Laura Logan and her boyfriend, Michael Ware of CNN damned each other in a heated argument in the green zone making their secret relation a public scum. Logan is loosing it since she was entertaining a male embassy employee when Ware got in time to catch them. The argument lasted an hour with all kinds of damnation going across the room. The State Department employee was talking about tax issues when the toxic exchange erupted. It was a very loud argument and public fight which lasted for hours and even spilled over to the CNN safe house next door.

An enterprising editor was in time with a mic to tap the loud debacle and send the world wild and thrilled with the shameful tryst. Laura Logan’s husband who has been pissed by the inept behavior of Logan is reportedly to have left Baghdad to avoid finding himself in the thick of a public and media debate on immoral and shameful liaisons of his wife and the CNN guy. Jason Seimon a professional basketball player is married to Laura Logan. Siemon is not in Iraq anymore and his exact whereabouts are not known. The debacle makes the debut of the movie Hancock premiere a scintillating moment since it’s the last time Siemon and Logan were spotted together. Hancock features actor Will Smith who has been a Hollywood sensational and a friend to Siemon.

Latest Journey lead singer a keeper, despite racist response; George Takei free of the barricades at last

Posted on 05 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

Journey singer/songwriter/keyboardist Jonathan Cain reports the band is sticking by its new Filipino lead singer Arnel Pineda – despite some racist responses from concertgoers when Arnel was introduced earlier this year.
“As much as we like to think we’re this hip country, we’re not,” says Cain. “There are still a lot of backward people living amongst us and it’s going to happen. But we’re just going to have to roll with that.  It’s there, it’s part of America but I’m just ignoring it.”
Cain says he knew Arnel was The One when he discovered him singing Journey songs on YouTube. “This guy was meant to sing our music. He can sing it in his sleep. It was destiny and Arnel is no mistake. He fit in our camp perfectly and we’re really excited to have him.”
The current incarnation of the classic rock band – which also includes guitarist Neal Schon, bassist Ross Valory and drummer Deen Castronovo — is set to head out on the concert trail with Heart and Cheap Trick July 9 with a kickoff concert in Denver, CO, in support of the band’s new release, “Revelation.”  They’ll be performing two songs on Ellen DeGeneres’ show Wednesday (5/28) with other appearances to follow.
Cain says the most personal song on the CD is “After All These Years.” “It’s just a love song from the heart I wrote for my wife,” he says. “We’re going on 20 years now and I got up one morning and wrote it in about 40 minutes. I got her in the studio and played it for her. I knew I had a good song when she was touched.” The three-disc CD/DVD will be available at Wal-Mart stores June 3.

BOLDLY GOING: Speaking of Ellen DeGeneres, her recent announcement on her talk show that she and girlfriend Portia Di Rossi plan to get married, now that the California Supreme Court has overturned the ban on gay marriage, could be the first of a string of high-profile same sex marriages around these parts.
Following in their footsteps is former “Star Trek” star George Takei, who just told fans on his website that he plans to marry his partner Brad Altman.  The two have been together for over 21 years.  We caught up with Takei not too long ago, and he talked about the restrictions he’s had to face as a gay man:  ”I grew up behind the barbed wire fences of the American and German camps during World War II, but the GLBT community is confined behind a different kind of barbed wire fence,” he noted.  As he stated on his website, he and Altman are “overjoyed” with this new turn of events.  ”Now, we can have the dignity, as well as all the responsibilities, of marriage. We embrace it all heartily.”

TALKIN’ TRAILER TRASH: “We don’t know what makes a good trailer, but we know when a trailer sucks.”  So says comic and “Golden Trailer Awards” host Sinbad, who’s become a bit of a connoisseur of the art of movie previews thanks to his latest gig.  He’s learned, “Every trailer company has one cat who’s a visionary, a man or a woman, who really has the gift for it.  One man drove an ice cream truck before he started doing trailers,” he claims.
Sinbad says his personal favorite trailer on tonight’s (5/26) “9th Annual Golden Trailer Awards,” on MyNetwork TV, is the preview for “Pineapple Express” – “It was slammin’.  I can’t wait to see the movie.”  The Awards show doesn’t have anything in the way of production numbers, but it does have lots of comedians.  “We had a chance to clown around a lot.  Some of the funniest stuff was off-camera.  I hope they can keep the looseness and fun they have,” says Sinbad.  “They’re not like the Oscars and Emmys.”

BOW WOW WOW BOW: Things are getting really ruff in the reality TV world.  First, we have CBS’  “Greatest American Dog” show –  think kind of a “Big Brother,” only with contestants who go around naked on all fours without having had anything to drink first.  Twelve dogs and their people coexist in a house and do challenges to try to win squeaky toys, treats and $250,000,.  That’s due July 10.  And now we hear the casting call has gone out for another network reality show, for dogs and their owners who need to lose weight.   Ha!  We thought that would give you paws.  Producers on the show are looking for owners to be a minimum of 40 pounds too hefty, and their pooches must also be pudgy.

CASTING CORNER: Casting forces on Joel and Ethan Coen’s “A Serious Man” have had an interesting task, looking for actors to play a Midwestern Jewish family – not with an East Coast feel, they specify – including a forty-ish woman who’ll do full frontal nudity in the film.  We’re told they’re saying to “think Anne Bancroft in ‘The Graduate.’”

Ashley Tisdale shows her navel

Posted on 04 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

Ashley Tisdale and Jared Murillo looked like a perfect couple running together. Ashley looked good in her exercise gear. You know what they say about couples who do everything together – they stay together.

Ashley and Jared were rumored to be in Salt Lake City, Utah. She had to finish her movie, High School Musical 3, with Disney. The couple kept a low profile and avoided speaking to the press to reduce rumors and gossip mongering on their relationship.

Lindsay Lohan realizes that she has put herself into ‘wrong situations’

Posted on 24 May 2008 by JoyCeleb

Lindsay Lohan realizes that she has put herself into ‘wrong situations’

It has been nearly six months since Lindsay Lohan left Cirque Lodge Treatment Center in Utah. Now she is opening up to People magazine about how some bad decision-making put her into rehab and about who has been her biggest support since she checked out of the rehab facility.
“I think it was just situations that I was putting myself in,” she told PEOPLE at a photo exhibit last week at N.Y.C.’s The Atelier. “I was putting myself in the wrong situations and I didn’t have the focus in the right place.”

The starlet also said she keeps in touch with the friends she met at Cirque Lodge and that her family has helped keep her on track.

“My family has always been important to me and they’ve always supported me,” said Lohan, who reunited with her estranged dad, Michael, while in rehab. “I’m blessed to have a really wonderful family.”

Career Revival

Since leaving rehab, Lohan’s career seems to be back on track. She’s recording a new album and begins filming the Jack Black movie Ye Olde Times this spring. “I’m excited to go and do a comedy,” she says.  In addition, Chapter 27, with costar Jared Leto, is set to open later this month.

Lindsay isl also starting her own line of leggings. Lohan told Life & Style, “It will be a while before it comes out, but I’m going to do it. Some of them will have prints and some will have patterns. I love leggings.”

It’s a good thing that Lindsay is back to work because reports say that she may be running low on cash. In Touch Weekly outlined some of her spending and the magazine concluded that Lohan has paid more than $315,000 on rehab stays and more than $1 million on hotels (in particular, they point to the $2,700/night suite at the Chateau Marmot where Lohan lived for a time). And although her rep denies Lohan’s cash situation and spending habits, In Touch shows a stunning budget line for tanning: The magazine says that she spent a mind-boggling $70,000 alone on her sunshine in a bottle!!

Jessica Alba Photos from Allure Magazine June 2008

Posted on 20 May 2008 by JoyCeleb

Jessica Alba graces the cover of Allure magazine and has a few more classy black and white photos inside the June 2008 issue. I don’t know when these photos were taken, but Jessica doens’t look pregnant at all! With Jessica’s recent engagement to Cash Warren and a seriously booming movie, she says that being pregnant is the icing on the cake.

She went on to say, “It’s quite a blessing and it couldn’t be more perfect timing.” And I don’t think her pregnancy is going to impact her career in a negative way at all. Besides, if they can’t get Jessica Alba, who else could they hire? All the other female celebrities are pregnant, too!

Penelope Cruz was looking muy excellente at the premiere of “Vicky Cristina Barcelona.” In the movie, Penelope plays “Maria Elena” and co-stars with Scarlett Johansson, Chris Messina, Patricia Clarkson, and Javier Bardem. As far as a movie reveiw, I don’t have one — but hey, look at Penelope Cruz. I do however have a little information regarding the plot:

“A painter enters a relationship with two American tourists. Conflict begins with the painter’s jealous ex-girlfriend.”

Doing double the talk duty, Bush grateful for return of voice

Posted on 20 May 2008 by JoyCeleb

“Access Hollywood’s” Billy Bush is launching his Westwood One “The Billy Bush Show” music and talk radio program this week – grateful his voice is back to 100 per cent after a staph infection in his larynx that caused him strained vocal cords last fall, and worsened to the point he was off the air in February.

“I was just busting to get through a day, eating cough drops constantly,” he recalls. “It’s a nightmare for someone who uses his voice as much as I do.” Bush tried acupuncture, a healing session at church, and of course doctors. “I finally met the right one. I heard about this doctor at the Harvard Medical Center who’d helped Dick Vitale, the basketball announcer,” Bush recounts. “I took the redeye to Boston see the guy, Dr. Dr. Steven Zeitels, and he made me do a test, and found out what it was.” With a course of a particular antibiotic, the problem started to clear up in a matter of days.

Now Bush is rarin’ to go as a radio host in addition to his TV job. He maintains, “It’s not going to be a combative show. It’s going to be a fun show. It will take what we do on TV further.” However, “If I have an issue with someone I will say so,” he adds. “Like the Mary Hart thing earlier this year, when I had an issue with how they (“Entertainment Tonight”) presented the Heath Ledger video with Heath in a room full of drugs. It was incredibly exploitive. If someone had handed me that tape I’d have said, ‘No way,’” he insists. “Mary, how could you?”

With his shoot-from-the-lip style, the cousin of George W. Bush is used to having people angry at him, obviously. “If I feel I’m right, I don’t have a problem with it,” Billy says. “If someone comes after me and I see that I’ve done something wrong, I’ll apologize.”

SLAVES TO SEX: “Army Wives” regular Sally Pressman says playing the lead in the Lifetime Original Movie, “Love Sick – Secrets of a Sex Addict” debuting Saturday (04/19) was “probably the most challenging thing I’ve ever done. It’s a heartbreaking story based on an autobiography and it’s also a lot darker than anything I’ve ever done.”

In “Love Sick” Pressman’s plays a woman who “was sexually abused by her father starting at age five and as a result of that developed a sexual disorder. The author came to the set a couple of days and I got to meet and talk to her, which was amazing. It’s very embarrassing for the person. They feel very alone, can’t tell anyone. What was fascinating for me as an actor was that this woman is having a lot of sex, but hates herself more every time she does it.”

Pressman says in reading the book on which the film is based and doing subsequent research she found sexual addiction to be a much misunderstood disorder. “Women who have this sexual disorder just basically get labeled as sluts and that’s not fair at all..It’s an actual chemical imbalance that alters your body so it’s something out of your control.” She adds, “What I loved about working on the piece was it brings consciousness to people that sexual addiction happens far too often in the world, that it’s not okay and you can stop it and help yourself.”

THE VIDEOLAND VIEW: Marlee Matlin, who stars with Jeff Daniels in CBS’s Hallmark Hall of Fame presentation of “Sweet Nothing in My Ear” Sunday (4/20), is diplomatic in talking about the different sides of the debate over cochlear implants. And the Oscar-winning deaf actress is pleased that playwright Stephen Sachs “didn’t take sides” on the matter either. “He looked at all sides of it. As for myself, I think that there are too many sides to the cochlear implant issue to take a stance either for or against them. In the end, it’s up to the individual or the family to decide what’s best for themselves or their child.”

SERENDIPITY: Movie maker C. Jay Cox wound up getting Tori Spelling to star in his “Kiss the Bride” film after, “I was flying back from Miami, and Tori and her husband Dean happened to be sitting behind me. I realized she’d be perfect for the character of Alex…Like her, she tends to start off being underestimated by people.” Cox contacted Spelling the next day – not in flight. “I’m a little too shy for that, I guess. She came in and I thought we were just going to do a general meeting, but she was all prepared and did a wonderful reading.”

Tori’s character is called upon to be something special, since she is the titular bride whose groom (James O’Shea) suddenly finds himself facing his high school love for the first time in years in the days preceding their planned wedding. The twist in Ty Lieberman’s drawn-from-real-life screenplay: that love is male (Philipp Karner).

“We shot it in 18 days for a half million dollars,” reports Cox, who had his distribution lined up early into the production. “Going in we were thinking, ‘Okay, we will make this movie for whatever we have to make it for. There’s a reason wedding movies are usually big studio movies. Weddings are expensive! We soon realized we weren’t just planning a movie shoot, we were planning a wedding. We ordered grip equipment, then picked out our color scheme and flowers.” “Kiss the Bride” opens in limited release Friday (4/18).

John Cusack goes the distance for John’s ‘War, Inc.’ satire

Posted on 19 May 2008 by JoyCeleb

Joan Cusack admits that it was tough shuttling back and forth between her Chicago home and Bulgaria location for her brother, John’s, “War, Inc.” big screen political satire that opens in limited release May 23 – but she was glad to do it.

“At this point I appreciate how hard it is to get something made that you love, that you really feel has content that’s worth talking about, that’s stimulating cultural conversations.  It’s a great luxury,” says Joan, who plays an executive of the corporation running the world’s first fully-outsourced war – complete with tanks bearing sponsor logos.  “To me, whenever John is working on something that he feels passionate about and I have an opportunity to work with my family and be able to support him, of course I’m going to do it.”

She notes, “The easy part was that I have a great husband and John was obviously flexible about when I could go and come back, so it worked with my family.”

Her other upcoming film this summer couldn’t be much more different – the July 2 release “Kit Kittredge: An American Girl’s Story,” inspired by the popular line of dolls, and its young heroine wannabe reporter of the Great Depression era.  That film stars the superb Abigail Breslin, with whom Joan is currently working in the big screen adaptation of Jody Picoult’s “My Sister’s Keeper.” “I’d worked with her before in ‘Raising Helen,’” reminds Joan, “and she’s a great kid with a great family.” She also notes, “I have two boys, so this girls’ world wasn’t a world I knew very much about.  I was impressed with the content of the story and the way they dealt with the subject matter.  It’s very psychologically empowering.  It made me want an American Boys store.”

Next up for Cusack, “Toy Story 3.”  “They’re just in the beginning stages,” reports the actress known to Pixar lovers as the voice of cowgirl Jesse.  “That’s easy.  I can do it from my home.”

ON THE PERSONAL SIDE: Cheetah Girl Sabrina Bryan admits that time with her beau, “Dancing With the Stars” pro Mark Ballas, has been pretty hard to come by lately between their respective professional activities.  “We’re just both really busy,” says Bryan, who competed in the upcoming Disney Channel Games last week.  “My partner has his card taken right now with Kristi Yamaguchi, which I’m so happy for.  We did go on tour together, which was awesome – to meet so many of the ‘Dancing With the Stars’ fans face to face and hear their applause.”

Bryan finished the much-anticipated summer Disney Channel movie “Cheetah Girls 3: One World” in India with group mates Adrienne Bailon and Kiely Williams last month.  “I got back on a Saturday and Adrienne and I went to that Monday’s ‘Dancing With the Stars’ show.  I couldn’t wait to get back and see him dance with Kristi, so I support Team Yamaguchi.  They’ll definitely make the finals, I think.”

As for Bryan and Ballas?  “We’ll see. We’re seeing how were going.”

THE BIG SCREEN SCENE: As fans eagerly await J.J. Abrams’ “Star Trek” , which just wrapped production, Faran Tahir, who plays the Federation Captain, says he’s confident it will bring forth a new legion of Trekkies – and not the kind that still sleep in their parent’s basement.  “J.J. is one of those people who has the ability to re-introduce water to you in a new way.  He’s such a creative man,” claims Tahir.  “I love what he’s done with it because he hasn’t said farewell to the tradition or the story of ‘Star Trek,’ but he has such a fresh approach to it that I think he will re-introduce it to this generation in a way they can relate.  It will create this bridge between the people who grew up with it and this younger generation who didn’t know about it.”

Tahir is certainly no stranger to fantasy flicks as he is also starring in “Iron Man” as Robert Downey Jr.’s nemesis Raza.  The actor believes people will really take to Downey Jr.’s approach to playing a superhero.  “The thing about Robert is that no matter what he attempts, he brings so many layers to the character.  Yes, this is an action movie and you could just do the action part of it and it would be fine, but he brings a certain amount of levity, which not many actors can do,” he notes.  The movie certainly holds a special place for Tahir, whose son got a part in it as well.  “For other movies I might have said no, but for a nine-year-old to be in superhero movie, what is cooler than that?  I couldn’t deny him that, and he did an amazing job.”

IN HIS SITES: Gerald McRaney’s off to Namibia to hunt game for his “World of Beretta” Outdoor Life Network series.  It’s the kind of unscripted show multi-series veteran McRaney can get into.  As for other non-scripted fare, “I agree with my brother’s notion about reality television.  He said, ‘Survivor my a–!  The craft services table is 20 feet away.’”  McRaney’s wife, Delta Burke, is staying home.  He says that while she understands hunting intellectually, “She’s not going to go there herself.”  He’ll be bringing Horton Foote’s “Dividing the Estate” onto Broadway this fall.  On the scripted TV front, “I’ve seen a couple of things this year that look promising, but any more, something is going to have to be really interesting to get me involved in it.  I’m getting a little long in the tooth to putting up with something less just to have another payday.”

Jennifer Tilly promotes Inconceivable in Cannes

Posted on 19 May 2008 by JoyCeleb

Jennifer Tilly made her trip to Cannes to promote her new movie, Inconceivable. Jennifer’s other female co-star was Andie McDowell. This was a movie about infertile couples, singles, gay men and lesbians. It tried to explore the issues this class of people faced as they grappled with their problems. As this film was made as a satire, the presentation of infertility and conception was dealt with in a light, superficial and entertaining way.
