Miranda gave the press and fans some time before entering backstage to change her clothes for her catwalk show. She looked beautiful modeling bikinis and other skimpy attire. Her heels accentuated her long, sexy legs. She was modest while talking about her new Supermodel status. She said that she went along with the flow of her work.

Heidi Klum sells her six-room Village duplex for $5.35 million.

Posted on 15 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

THE BANK JOB: Heidi Klum sells her six-room Village duplex for $5.35 million.Heidi Klum is strutting down a new hallway after selling her West Village penthouse. According to city records, the supermodel/mother of three sold her six-room duplex co-op on Bank Street for $5.35 million.

The three-bedroom apartment overlooking the river includes 2½ baths, a library, an open kitchen and a hot tub on the rooftop deck. We’re not sure whether the sandbox and jungle gym are included.

The buyers are Debra and Steve Joester, the noted gallery owner and rock photographer during the ’70s and ’80s, who already own the unit below Klum’s place.

Klum, hubby Seal and the kids have been spending most of their time in LA, where a portion of her TV show “Project Runway” is being taped.

But friends of the Teutonic temptress say that she’s looking to buy a substantial pad in downtown Manhattan.

“She’s outgrown the apartment,” says a source. “She’s very family-oriented and needs a lot more space for nannies and visiting relatives. Plus, she didn’t like the kids climbing the small spiral staircase between floors.”

Raze the roof

Warner Music Group chairman Lyor Cohen is spending $6.8 million for a teardown in the Hamptons. Sources say Cohen has just closed on the property in North Haven after a bidding war erupted for the bayfront home, which was listed at $5.5 million.

“Lyor was actually the second-highest bidder,” says a source, “but the guy with the highest offer couldn’t come up with the $7.2 million - and he also lost his $720,000 deposit.”

While the four-bedroom Contemporary is nothing to crow about, the stunning 2.5-acre property has 170 feet of waterfront. Meanwhile, Cohen has taken his Bridgehampton estate with a $9.5 million price tag off the market in anticipation of his lengthy construction project.

Listing broker Patricia de Cillia of the Corcoran Group could not be reached.

The write place

Entertainment power couple Nora Ephron and Nick Pileggi are the new owners of an Upper East Side co-op. Public records show that they’ve paid $2.74 million for a second-floor flat with three bedrooms and 2½ baths at 136 E. 79th St.

The married long-time renters left their $1,500-a-month eight-room Apthorp apartment two years ago after the landlords wisely raised the wealthy duo’s monthly tariff to $10,000. Ephron was particularly proud to have skirted the system by paying a previous tenant $24,000 to take over the rent-stabilized lease.

Two for one

The Park Avenue apartments of former Treasury Secretary W. Michael Blumenthal and his late next-door neighbor, former Vogue editrix Diana Vreeland, are being purchased by Phyllis Mack, the wife of real-estate mogul William Mack.

According to the $24 million Brown Harris Stevens listing, it’s an opportunity to re-combine the two homes to create a residence with six bedrooms, more than 70 feet of Park Avenue frontage, four exposures and 28 windows.

Blumenthal, whose signature appeared on the nation’s currency from 1977 to 1979, was paid $5.4 million of those now-less valuable bucks for his side of the wall.

Adriana Lima & Her Hard Nipples Are Engaged

Posted on 14 June 2008 by JoyCeleb

Serbian NBA player Marko Jarić has finally proposed to girlfriend Adriana Lima after just nine months of dating.

Dude, nine months?!  I won’t even move in with someone unless we’ve been dating more than three years!  Then again, when you’re girlfriend is a hot supermodel who refuses to put out until marriage I guess marriage doesn’t so too bad.

Marko’s publicist confirmed the engagement saying, “He asked and she said yes. They are both incredibly happy and couldn’t be more in love.”

Virgins are so overrated.  I’ll take a slut over a tight vagina any day.

Here is Adriana Lima out and about in Manhattan yesterday.

Can Lindsay shine up her stardom with ‘Betty’?

Posted on 22 May 2008 by JoyCeleb

With the luster of Lindsay Lohan’s stardom dimmed – a lot – due to her record of hard partying, legal woes, drug trouble and flops, Lohan watchers are speculating over her chances of post-rehab redemption via her “Ugly Betty” arc that starts Thursday night (5/22).

She won’t be sitting idly by wondering, that’s for sure.  In fact, the whirl that is Lindsay’s world is spinning as fast as ever.  She’s currently prepping for “Labor Pains,” which has been set for a June 2 start date — the day after she’s to present at the MTV MovieAwards.   That’s the big-screen comedy in which she’ll play a girl so desperate not to get fired from her job, she falsely claims to be pregnant – then finds herself getting special treatment and sympathy.

On the heels of wrapping “Labor Pains,” Lindsay – who turns 22 on July 2 – is due to head to New York, barring an actors’ strike, for the start of next season’s “Ugly Betty,” in which she’s to appear in five episodes as a mean girl from high school who resurfaces in Betty’s (America Ferrera) life.

She’s also readying her much-discussed third album to debut in early fall.

Meanwhile, a casting notice has gone out for the role of Nancy Pitman in Matthew Bright’s “The Manson Girls,” the film detailing the murderous Charles Manson cult story through the eyes of his female followers — to which Lohan was attached. Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood recently reported that Lindsay had been dropped from the project because other actors didn’t want to work with her – to which Lindsay’s rep quickly responded that her departure was due to scheduling conflicts.

Whatever —  the fact that producers are still hiring Lindsay brings to mind an observation made by comedic icon Bob Newhart years ago, that oftentimes, those who survive in this business are those whose talent exceeds their need to self destruct.

THE VIDEOLAND VIEW: Supermodel Beverly Johnson, who is making a television comeback, is comparing herself to Paula Abdul.  Given the sometimes-bizarre antics of Abdul, you certainly don’t hear that said too often, but Johnson is referring to her use of positive comments when it comes to judging contestants.  Johnson herself is a judge on the new original series, “She’s Got the Look,” premiering June 4 on TV Land.   “I was trying to call myself the Paula Abdul because I love her.  I love her as a person, and I consider myself a real nice person.  However, I don’t know if I was so nice,” admits Johnson of her behavior on the show, which sets out to discover a woman 35 or older to become the next great supermodel-of-a-certain-age.  ”I hope I didn’t come off too mean.  I think I was fair.  I was honest and I wanted to move them along to their dreams, but criticism, no matter how you give it, stings.”

Johnson, who was the first African-American model to appear on the cover of American Vogue, tells us she certainly had plenty to say.  ”I don’t know if I was supposed to or not, but I interjected whenever I got the chance.  I knew what it was like to leave your kids when you have to go away to work.  Plus, there was a sense of urgency because at this age they want to put this career in forward motion.”

As for Johnson’s career, she says she’s put in the long hours and now she’s focusing more of her attention on golf.  ”I built my dream home on a golf course.  This was all before I knew I was going back into show business.  I recently played in the LPGA Pro-Am tournament.  I missed the cup by one, but I was so excited to be on ESPN.”

CORONATION EQUATION: Derek Luke says working with one of his icons, Spike Lee, on the upcoming “Miracle at St. Anna’s” constituted a high mark in his career.  “In New York, Spike has this group of people that he always works with and now I can say I was amongst that group. It’s almost like being crowned being part of that.  I went in with no type of thought of what it should be, but I left with a proudness, you know what I’m saying?  It was a blessing to work with Spike.”  He notes, “I was always a fan. He had to be one of the first influences on my life as a filmmaker. His films really touched me.”  Luke co-stars with Laz Alonso, Michael Ealy and John Turturro in the film about four African-American GIs stuck behind enemy lines in Italy during WW II.

FREE LOVE AND HARD RAIN: Quite a casting job for the forces working on Ang Lee’s planned “Taking Woodstock” feature – it has 54 roles.  The adaptation of Elliot Tiber’s “Taking Woodstock: A True Story of a Riot, a Concert, and a Life” details how Tiber, described as a lonely gay Jewish man who managed a Catskills mountains hotel, wound up becoming a pivotal player in the making of the legendary 1969 Woodstock music festival.

There’s something about former supermodel Cindy Crawford

Posted on 21 May 2008 by JoyCeleb

There’s something about former supermodel Cindy Crawford — seen her at the Poppy store opening to benefit Stuart House in Santa Monica earlier this week — that really gets my temperature rising.

At 42, Cindy isn’t the freshest fish in the sea, but the more exposure she gets, the more desirable she seems.

This woman has managed to maintain both her youthful looks and spirit without grasping onto a false image of youth filled with lip gloss, boob jobs, leopard print bras, and leather miniskirts.

What do you say, would you hit it?

Karolina Kurkova Photos from 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards

Posted on 20 May 2008 by JoyCeleb

Karolina Kurkova seems to be quite the surprise! Who would have guessed that this Czech-born supermodel enjoyed country music? Not I, but country music really is not what it used to be. Regardless of what I think, this Victoria’s Secret model attended the 43rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards and enjoyed performances by Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift. Karolina said:

“I am who I am, and I don’t want to be somebody else. Mother Nature made me the way I am, and I should be happy.”
